Many believe Brian started his speaking career the day he was born as he has always been a talker and nobody has ever called him shy. In high school he was give the superlatives “Most Talkative” & “Most Likely To Be A CEO” as a captain and leader on the high school sports teams and editor-n-chief of the school newspaper, Brian wasn’t afraid to be a leader, take command of team and inspire groups to take his lead. In college Brian was President of his fraternity and assistant captain of the ice hockey team continuing his leadership roles while being the only person in both organizations who was a computer science major.
Brian’s career was fast accelerated while working for the Department of Defense as a contractor he found a nitche in being able to “translate geek speak” which really meant he could code and relate with the computer programers and developers while relating what is being done to business and team goals and present those to managers, leaders and the government. Brian became the youngest speaker to take the stage quarterly to brief government leadership on industry, project and military cyber security trends and updates. These speaking opportunities grew to include government regional and national events while also being sent to 28 countries including Iraq, Afghanistan to brief active duty military members on cyber policies, train them on the technologies and motivate them to collaborate and share strategies between organization and military branches.
Brian left the government space to work with a cloud startup to focus more on collaboration and social business while crafting his Technology Evangelist role modeled after Guy Kawaskaki and Robert Scoble. Brian was responsible for employee, partner, client and prospect engagement focusing on educating them on the company story, training them on the technology and inspiring them to collaborate and share as a community. Brian spoke in-front of executives at partner and client companies: Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Century Link, Gartner, Openstack, AWS, Microsoft to name a few. Brian spoke at major events on behalf of the startup including VMworld, AWS Re:Invent, Gartner Datacenter, Datacenter Dynamics and more.
In the fall of 2013 Brian turned his to telling his story and studying marketings role in community development and collaboration which is when he started growing his personal brand and social media industry visibility. In the march of 2014 he was recognized by the Economist and IBM as a top 25 Emerging Social Business Leader soon after his startup merged with Century Link at which time Brian left to pursue his own company with his first client being his previous startups CEO.

He has also been a guest on 50+ podcasts and featured on 35+ brand sponsored webinars. During this time he has also been the co-host of currently the largest video twitter chat show Social Business Hour #SBizHour as well as co-hosting a SAP & IBM sponsored video twitter chat show called #Cloudtalk. Brian also teamed up with author and CEO of V3B Marketing to launch the podcast SMACtalk (Social, Mobile, Analytics, Cloud) which is approaching it’s 1 year anniversary.
Brian’s career covers a vast range of skillsets, industries and communities with the three consistency’s being his dedication and focus to take leadership roles in every aspect of his life, his passion and belief that collaboration is the key to innovation and success and last but not least he believes in the power of change by teaching and inspiring it without conforming or allowing industry pressures or status quo to force him to not be himself!
His passion for change and people is evident as he delivers keynotes on topics ranging from employee advocacy to social selling to personal branding to his personal social philosophy which he calls #ShowUcare.
